Gaston-Bettez Park

Lanoraie
2024

The municipality of Lanoraie has commissioned Opaysage to conduct a preliminary study and develop a master plan for optimizing Gaston-Bettez Park. Following an in-depth analysis of the current park facilities, Opaysage has provided Lanoraie Municipality with recommendations and requirements regarding civil, electrical, and aquatic engineering, architecture, and landscape architecture. Additionally, we have supplied plans to guide the town’s future interventions and enhance the global citizens’ and visitors’ experience.

Notable environmental features of the project include on-site water management and an eco-friendly parking area. The proposal prioritizes the use of high-quality and natural materials, evident in various play areas (for ages 18 months to 5 years and 8-12 years, for instance), as well as stone dust pathways ensuring both universal accessibility and permeability. Moreover, the concept includes wildflower zones and the planting of native trees and vegetation.

A multifunctional zone is also central to the concept. This covered area will eventually accommodate a variety of municipal events year-round, including social gatherings, performances, and hosting the outdoor skating rink during the winter season.

This project signifies the municipality's commitment to embracing innovative concepts that prioritize sustainable development principles, aligned with contemporary environmental concerns.
