The Bike Park of ÉPIC Center
The ÉPIC Center of the Montreal Heart Institute contributes to promote for health, well-being and maintaining healthy lifestyle habits aiming to prevent risks associated with cardiovascular diseases. A green rooftop project, along with the creation of a bike park, were therefore mandates entrusted to Opaysage so that the exterior becomes an extension of the services offered indoors.
The bike park, deemed necessary, addresses the growing desire among the Center's cycling clientele. The use of vegetated pavers to accommodate two-wheeled transportation emerged naturally to the design team, allowing for a blend of aesthetics, functionality, and environmental value in the project. Existing plants were reused, and a self-service bike repair station complete this project, characterizing the facade of the building on Saint-Zotique Street.
